Diazepam side effects worry

Hi all.
I started taking 2mg of Diazepam 2 times a day about a month ago. They are helping my anxiety. But I feel worse I just do not want to do anything and feel numb and nothing at times. Also numerous thoughts about self harming have started.

I just wanted to know if these symptoms have happened to anybody else and if they are actually due to the diazepam or something else :(

I presume your doctor prescribed 4mg of diazam for a short period and you say they are helping your anxiety but you feel worse but I think you mean they are knocking you out abit and making you tired and lethargic.

The thoughts of self harming is an entirely different matter, so IMO I would go back to your doctor and tell them exactly what you have just posted.

Valium will relax you physically, but won't give you thoughts if self harm.
If the SE of Valium is that you are overtired. I would reduce your dosage and discuss this with your GP

Thank you for your replies. Yeah the doctors prescribed it for the short term to combat my anxiety. Didn't want to start using them but my doctors pretty much demanded that I take them. Lethargic yes. Literally been in bed all day, not had the energy or want to do anything.
