Hi everyone. Ive been taking 15mg escatalopram, 9mg of diazepam (tapered down from 20 mg over a six month period)
I have not had fun tapering the diazepam even if I cut down by .5 mg.
My doctor wants to "tweak" my medication by adding 25mg of quetiapine on the advice of a psychiatrist who hasn't spoken to me face to face.
The ultimate goal is to increase the quetiapine to 100mg plus over the next few months.
Im scared to take the quetiapine, especially in combination with the other meds.
does anyone know if this combination is safe?
Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
Thanks for your help☺

Can't comment on the other two but I have been taking 25mg quetiapine for a week now. Whilst I get some sleep on it, I am still not sleeping through the night. Other than that I have not noticed many side effects, it's a low dose. If you are worried about the combination then it may well be worth asking the pharmacist. I was nervous about taking the quetiapine myself, it took me a few days to bite the bullet. Sorry if this is not much help.

All this medication without actually seeing/being assessed by a psychiatrist?

I did see a psychiatrist about 5 years ago. he was the one who diagnosed the generalised anxiety disorder.
Sorry for the late reply. my alerts are going to my junk mail
