Hi everyone. About 3 weeks ago I found a very hard lymph node in my lower left neck. It's VERY hard, the size of a pea, very movable and not painful at all. Of course I am totally freaking out. I go to see my doc in a few days but it's got me so worried. The fact that it's so hard - it feels like a pebble. I have read the lymph nodes can calcify? I don't know.... So just worried, anyone ever have this? I got over a sore throat about a month and a half ago..... Don't think this has been there that long.

I have a rock hard node behind my jaw bone and another hard one lower in my neck on the same side. The jaw one is about the size of a grape and the lower down one is the size of a pea. The jaw one isn't moveable at all and the lower one is. I worried about these for months even though I knew I had a bad ear infection and they only came up during that, because they were rock solid and I had never felt lymph nodes on myself before, I freaked out. I went to the doctor expecting to hear it was lymphoma and I was going to be referred to a specialist but nope, they turned out to be totally normal even though they were hard.

dolphin , had this in 1997 and started my health anxiety. Lymph nodes popped up on my neck. They biopsied one and it was nothing. Doctors mentioned the C word numerous times from the start and I almost lost my mind. When it was done the ear nose and throat specialist that did the biopsy was pissed at my general practice doctor for mentioning the c word to me. He said he sees lymph nodes pop up all the time on people an sometimes go away. My doc said if your not losing weight, feeling ill or having night sweats cancer should be an after thought. I still have my swollen lymph nodes and health anxiety .... Not about the nodes though

Dolphin, everything ginger said is accurate. A few years back I got into really good shape and lost alot of body fat. I suddenly could feel the lymph nodes in my groin. They were the size of my fingertip and I immediately went to the doctor. He looked at me and said nothing is off. He took some blood and said it is normal to feel lymph nodes in certain spots of the body. He even pointed out that sometimes when we shave. A Cut from shaving will trigger a swollen node. Fall time allergies or spring allergies can trigger them as well.

Wow so even though they are really hard like rocks, they can still be considered normal? I am hoping that is what my doc says too. Its been there for almost a month with no change. I don't know if its been there all along or it this is something new. Its just this one shoddy one, moveable....

And of course I google and see some scary stuff!!! Hate it.
