Paxil and Social Anxiety

I have been struggling with social anxiety and depression for almost two years now. I was just put on 10 mg of Paxil to see if that will lessen the anxiety. I am not big proponent of medication and am not sure what to expect. Part of my problem is that when I get nervous get muscle tension in my neck and and have diffiuculty with speaking. I know the easy answer is to just relax but I just can't seem to let go of the anxiety and now I am beginning to wonder if it will ever end. This is the point where the depression sets in as I begin to fell hopeless. Be intererested to know how other people of overcome social anxiety and depression. Also, does anybody else have experience with Paxil. I am only on my 4th day of the darn stuff. Thanks
