I was lying down checking my phone with my chin on my chest and I coughed, and as I coughed I felt this big weird popping sensation in the tissues of my neck, like my voicebox/thyroid area...like a big air bubble popping. It felt really weird (no pain though) and I'm scared that I may have ruptured some cartilage/my thyroid. It felt like my adam's apple (do girls even have adam's apples...it's just the voicebox, right?)
I'm really worried if I damaged it, it might compress my airway or something. I can't find any info on it. There's no pain thankfully, but the sensation really freaked me out :weep: My neck feels slightly swollen towards the throat area, but I'm not sure if it's normal and just my thyroid, or if I've done some damage. It's pretty late here and I don't want to go to A&E, the out of hours doctor etc. I've never heard of anything like this :/
