Let me tell my story. I ve had this come and go on and off the past few yrs. what happens is I get the bent over stabbing abdominal pains that last a few hrs then subside and I'm left bloated and sick for a few days usually with a mild fever. Back in April I went to the doc for it and they did an mri on my abdomen. It showed a bit of inflammation in my ascending colon. Gave me antibiotics and sent me home. Happened again in June. Ended up at a specialist who ordered a barium drink X-ray thing. Said I didn't need a colonoscopy because I had one in 2012 and everything fine just some ibs. To make a long story shorter everything looked good. All blood tests good everything came back fine. Well it happened again. I'm very stressed out from work. I'm a total hypochondriac. I obsess over things all day long. Can stress cause this inflammation that causes these painful attacks? I'm just worried that it came back. I've done all the googling and I know I shouldn't. It definitely hasn't helped. Is it all just stress? Having a hard time wrapping my head around that. I'm 41 and in pretty good shape except for this. Anybody?

Hi Sammy,

Lately my stomach has been causing me a lot of grief. It feels like at night after dinner that its tight like a belt on it. I haven't been to see a doctor about it but probably should. What you are going though doesn't sound fun but maybe it isn't serious. Hope you feel better and hope mine goes away soon too. Take care
