Cold sore?

I have never had a cold sore but my 5 yr old says her lip hurts but there is nothing there. Not even a tiny blackhead and she's pointing not right above her lip. I'm just asking if they hurt before they happen?

It does hurt a little. But it's an odd feeling.. the only way I describe it is feeling like the skin is being stretched a little. If there isn't one there in the morning it's probably nothing :) Because cold sores tend to come on pretty quickly, and the lump appears after a few hours of the weird sensation.

Ok thanks for the reply! She hasn't said anything so I'll check in the am. I get them inside my mouth but I don't know they are there until they are sores
