Hi everyone. I've suffered with severe anxiety and palpitations for about three years.
After a particularly bad and sudden episode of palpitations yesterday I rang the ambulance. I had a few ECG's at my house and they sent me off to the hospital.
By the time I got to the hospital my palpitations had subsided but thankfully I had the ECG's from earlier on. When they analysed it, the specialists told me that they think I have something called Atrial Flutter. I understand this is very similar to Atrial Fibrillation.
I'm in two minds about this. I'm both relieved to finally find out what most likely is wrong after so long, but I'm also scared about the future. I don't think its life-threatening and from what I can gather it can even be completely cured. I'm also feeling very down; I'm 22 and having a problem like this in my third year of university is so unsettling.
Has anyone else on here been diagnosed with atrial flutter/fibrillation at all? And has anyone received any treatment or done the catheter ablation procedure at all?
Thanks guys!
Mike.
