I have had both of those symptoms before. I don't always get them, but they're common. For me, the lump in the throat is pretty common. Haven't had the chest tightness for a long time though.

whereabouts is your chest pain, mine is low down just in the gap where the rib cage ends and the stomach begins. i had a chest x ray, a stomach x ray and an ecg and was assured all is normal. the doc said it starts with anxiety, causes xcess acid in the stomach, causes pain, more anixety, muscles tense up. more pain, even more anxiety.
if i feel it really bad i drink some mint tea then go to bed with a guided meditation cd for about 1/2 hour to relax it really helps.

I get the pains all over my chest sometimes where you are talking about and sometime in other places but i have been noticing the tightness and what feels like a lump in my throat for about the past few weeks. I have been to the hospital numerous times and to the docs to and all have told me i am healthy no heart problems or anything like that all test are normal or negative. I dont know what to think or feel anymore.

James - read our symptoms page.

Both chest and throat tightness are very very usual symptoms of anxiety. If you have been checked over , you are going to have to accept that it is anxiety related.

Its hard to accept because you're scared, but the more you have them and nothing else follows to prove otherwise, the easier it is to rationalize .
