Hello. I haven't created a new thread recently, as I have largely kept my anxiety in check, but I really feel the need to do so this time.
Literally any minute now my parents will call me and my sister for teatime in the living room. Almost certainly channel 10 news will be on, and today I am worried about a new movie being mentioned and that everyone will be making negative comments about while I have not yet formed an opinion. I think that this will make me feel very awkward, which will be manifested through obviously avoiding the story and possibly blushing.

I can't block out the comments of others or sit somewhere else (the latter will be considered rude if I offer no explanation).

I am really worrying unduly about this and I don know what to do:shrug:

What worries you about the film, Peter?

It's ok to not have an immediate opinion about something. Do you have to say anything? Can you just pretend to go along with what they say to avoid confrontation?

Then after the event you can continue to form your opinion on your own and they never need to know what the outcome is.
