Hello everyone
I assume I have GAD
It started with neck pain, which eventually turned into a dull headache, 24/7, and was worse in the morning. I also noticed that I got wound up for no reason. I would feel the muscles around my head tense up and a headache starting.
I went to the doctor and I was given valium to take for three nights only. I don't think it had any effect. I mentioned the headache to my ENT specialist and he suggested that I saw a neurologist, so I did, and after a few tests and an MRI he diagnosed anxiety.
He prescribed 10mg of Tryptizol at night, which helps but it isn't the cure. He also prescribed Escitalopram for the headache during the day. I took 5mg for two days, but I stopped taking it because the side effects were horrendous. I didn't notice any benefit from it.
I still have restless nights and the bad head has returned in the morning accompanied by head/ear pressure, tinnitus and a general feeling of doom and gloom. I truly believe that I would be fine if I could get rid of the headaches.
I tried acupuncture, I can't really say if it had any effect. I am now contemplating a psychologist. I would like to know if anyone has benefited from a psychologist?
Thanks!
