So I went to the doctor about 2 weeks ago because I had a sore throat. He diagnosed by sore throat as just being a virus but also told me I have some signs of thrush in my mouth. He prescribed me with drops to take for a week and said nothing more about it.
Today, I stupidly decided to google oral thrush and it said that adults only get it if they have HIV or some other serious disease? Now, I'm freaking out. I don't feel sick at all. I feel completely normal. And I'm certain I don't have HIV. I've only ever had sex with my ex boyfriend and we always used condoms. And the doctor didn't mention the thrush having anything to do with serious medical conditions.
Are there other reasons you can get thrush? I'm only 20 years old. The last time I was on antibiotics was back in March so I don't know if that will have anything to do with it.
