View Full Version : 0300 - 0400 early morning waking

Anyone else suffer from this ? I am fairly guaranteed to wake between 0300 and 0400 hrs nearly every morning. Except Friday night, when I can usually have a lie in Saturday morning. Sautrday night I can have a few drinks etc, but guaranteed I will be up by 0345 !

i do this every night and just stay awake until its time to get up...it was between 4-5 but when the clocks went back it got earlier x

Yeah me too during periods of high anxiety, without fail 5.00am and also the hour back or forth when the clocks change adjusted it accordingly, for me it also didnt matter what time I went to bed.

Makes no different whatsoever. Saturday night I can go to bed at 2300 after a few pints and it's still 0345. Sunday night, obviously now shattered, go to bed at 2100 and it's still 0400.

Hi

Yes I can relate to this. I think once it becomes a habit your body becomes used to it, so you wake even if there is nothing at the time bothering you.

Try to see how you feel when you wake are you hungry or thirsty, I pinpointed my waking once to being thirsty, so increased the amount of water I drank throughout the day and it stopped.

I also switcg my kindle on and read for a bit so I am tired again then fall back to sleep.

I get this too, every morning at the moment :(

I've just started listening to audiobooks on my iPad, which helps a bit with the ruminating and bad thoughts. Managed to clock up 3 hours of Michael Crichton this morning!! Might be worth a go - anything's better than just lying there stressing out....
