Mine is underactive, it was over-active, Kellie39 is right the symptoms of over-active do mirror Anxiety.
I had a resting heart beat of 126, and thought my sertraline was a placebo, I had already switched to de-caff tea. My whole body shook.
After my Thyroid levels had rocketed I was referred to a specialist I was diagnosed with Graves diesease and I had to have a radio-active iodine capsule to destroy the thyroid, as it's rare now for them to remove it by surgery. So now I'm on Levothyroxine to stabilise it, but it 2 years for the Specialist to get the dosage right, as my HRT was interferring with the medication so I had to come off it
The symptoms for under-active are, weight gain, sensitive of the cold, tiredness, constipation, depression, muscle aches and pains. Where as the over active symptoms are weight loss, sensitive to heat, the runs, anxiety, fidgety anf hyper.

Kellie39, it's one of those blood tests that has to catch the problem when the thyroid is acting up, you maybe over-active or even border line.
