Another port on lymph nodes...

I have had health anxiety for a few years. I seem to have an obsession with the lymph nodes.

What's worrying me now is that I can feel two nodes on either side of the wind pipe. They are located in the same spot on each side and are both about the same size ( less than 1 cm). My question is: Is it normal to palpate nodes symmetrically like this? Even if they don't seem to be swollen? Does anyone else have lymph nodes like this?

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm pretty sure they're lymph nodes because what ever I'm feeling is slightly movable and pea shaped

The hyoid bone is kind of free floating. Do a Google on location and I think that's what you feel. Otherwise, they could be nodes as there are 100-200 of them there and it wouldn't be that unusual to have healthy symmetrical nodes.

Yup had lymph node scare 8 months ago. I have several that are around 1 cm all over my neck and throat ENT doc says they are OK . If I had a nickel for how many times I molested them I'd be able to retire in my 30s. Leave them alone. If they swell to where you can see them like an inch go see a doc or an ent specialist it just means u most likely have an infection and they are doing their job. Leave the nodes alone they are your friend and they don't feel like being poked at lol. Also symmetry is good for nodes it just means what you are feeling is actually a node
