I'm 61 years old. Going through a massive panic attack. A few months ago, I went off my anti-depressants and my bowel habits began to change. Over the last few weeks, I've noticed my stool is coming out ribbon-like - some are normal sized stools are flattened. Other times it comes out in thin ribbons. Colour/consistency seems normal. Had a colonoscopy in 2009 and other than a couple of polyps, all was good at that time. My mother, at my age, had a beniign tumour in her colon but because of its location, she had to have a colostomy. Now I'm worried sick and I can't seem to turn it off in my head that this could be cancer. I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow and it can't come soon enough. Unfortunately, in Canada, it could be months before I see a specialist. Any feedback would be so appreciated.
