My anxiety first started when I first went to secondary school. I couldn’t deal with the crowds and found everything overwhelming. I am now diagnosed asperger’s, and the sensory difficulties no doubt played a big part. Apart from crowds, I really struggle with trying to make decisions (I analyze everything) and fear the unknown/uncertainty.
I am currently a teacher, but find managing a class is not for me. I recently quit, only to return as supply twice a week. I tried nhs counseling a few years ago and found it helpful. However, I tried applying to the same service again and I’ve been rejected twice.
The reason I joined this forum, is that I am at a point where I feel ready to seek help and talk about issues openly.
