Heart twinges

For the last few weeks I have been getting twinges in my chest close to where my heart is. I have been ignoring it and thinking it was just indigestion. Yesterday when I was carrying a heavy bag I had the feeling again but this time it was worse. Yesterday I could still feel a slight twinge in my chest and today when I was showering I could feel it again. When I have had this feeling before it has not lasted for the rest of the day or into the next day.
Should I try to see a doctor or go to the hospital to try to have this checked out?
It is a bank holiday today so I would have to go to the hospital,

Sounds muscular, particularly if it got worse when carrying a bag.

Worth putting some heat on the affected area to see if it shows improvement.
