Very short of breath the day after drinking alcohol

I suffer from shortness of breath often due to anxiety (I think anyway) and last night, I thought I'd celebrate the new year by getting a bit drunk. I felt fine until I woke up early this morning with breathing troubles and feeling like I can't get enough oxygen. I rarely drink this much, in fact I rarely drink at all - just wondered if anyone else has experienced this who has anxiety, and if so, is it normal?

I have a panic attack with nearly every hangover. I don't really know why it does it, but it does.
