Hi all,

I wonder, has anybody tried an SAD lamp for their anxiety?

I notice that my anxiety is so much worse on grey days, and am thinking about trying a lamp for home use. I know they are meant to be for Seasonal Affective Disorder, which is depression-linked I think, but I thought it'd be worth a go.

If you have used one, do you recommend a particular model that's available in the UK?

Many thanks

Hi,

I've been using my light box for a few months now. I tend to get more anxious when I'm feeling depressed and hopeless, so I think it helps both with anxiety and depression. I have a SunTouchPlus. I bought it from the US amazon site, but I'd be surprised if the same one or similar isn't available in the UK.

The light box definitely makes my down mood more tolerable. It kind of peps me up and makes me feel a bit cheerier, and then I don't feel so anxious either.

Good luck!

Thank you! That's really helpful to know. I think anxiety and depression are so interrelated, that helping one must necessarily help the other!

I'm so glad to know it's working for you.
