pains in ribs both sides

Hi everyone. I am really worried as for the last couple of weeks I have been having intermittent sharp pains in my ribs at both sides, pain between my shoulders and occasional sharp pains in my stomach.
I saw my GP yesterday as I was concerned about possible gallstones. He is going to arrange an ultrasound. He also said it might be an acid problem.
Have been online and now I am frightened that I have a stomach ulcer.
Is it possible to have acid reflux pains that are in so many different areas?
The doctor didn't suggest a h.pylori test. I don't know what to eat and what to avoid.

Hi in my case my acid reflux causes pain both sides rib area and also my IBS adds to it all. I have had three ultrasounds, an endoscopy and other tests and still told it's caused by reflux. I even paid for a private scan as I didn't believe my GP but it was still reflux . It can cause quite a few problems. Good luck with your ultrasound.

I have acid reflux and it jolts me awake at night. Also feels like my mouth is glued together in the morning, yours sounds like reflux to me. I certainly get pain in the ribs too
