Hi
Was just wondering if the 2 are linked, does anxiety affect a particular personality type?
I'm genuinely a nice person who is caring (arnt I lovely ;) ), however i'm not particularly introverted, I like to socialise but dont like standing up in front of a crowd and dont like confrontation.
Having said that, I think my personality has changed with the anxiety, I used to be quite positive and have found that is slowly changing.

So what are you lot like???:D

hi i Debbsi, i understand totally what you say, i try very hard to be a nice person (don't always get it right) sometimes i feel i have to be perfect to all people all of the time. This can cause anxiety always striving to '' do the right thing''
And yes i can say without question anxiety can and does change your personality, i too am nowhere near as happy or positive about life as i was before anxiety reared it's head.

Take care
Dave.

Here's an interesting article on the very subject. There is a book too but the gist of it is in his article.

HI - I am like that - I am an extrovert - I am emotional and love life and people and everything but because I am an up and down emotional type person (made worse by menopause I might add!!) I feel emotions stongly and get anxious, tearful etc at the drop of a hat!! I think Type A personality (ovef punctual people who talk fast etc and have breathing probs- like me) are more prone to being stressed or anxious coz its our personality. Wenjoy x

Hi Debsi. I think there's a link between anxiety and personality. I come across as an outgoing person but sometimes, I am like a jelly inside! I think I'm an A type person-impatient to get things done, fast talking and restless and all the thinking and pressures I put on myself cause stress and anxiety. I know only too well the affect I have on myself but I can't seem to slow down! I don't get tearful very often but I have a problem with being irritable and can get quite angry sometimes. xx
