First panic attack

Hi all...this is my first post on here cause I need HELP! I had my first real panic attack about 5 months ago and since then have had several more. I have a hard time leaving my house in fear I will have one. My doctor gave me xanax for when I feel them coming on, and they work great but don't want to be dependant on them to live my life :( I have most trouble in cars, in hotel rooms or going anywhere away from home where I feel I couldn't get help if I need it. It's definitely affecting my life.I'm a 34 year old female. I always think something is wrong with me and I'm dying. Ug

Same story as mine. Bless your heart.... I have that same fear. You may consider something more long acting, like an SSRI. I have been started on Lexapro in hopes that it will be in my system at all times and take away that constant gloom. Are you in CBT? I am 25 and literally convinced I am dying, despite all clear from doctor. Just can't reason sometimes! I have valium, but llike you, I don't want to be on it all my life. Plus, I am still anxious! hugs!
