Today I had an extremely intense but very brief panic attack. It lasted for only about a minute and it was because the fire alarm rang at our school and even though I wasn't really scared, my body's automatic response to anything abnormal is panic. The attack was fleeting because it was a false alarm but afterwards I developed a very uncomfortable headache. Can such brief panic cause this? Or is it something I should be worried about?
Thanks,
Sharon

Sure can. Anxiety will tighten your head, neck, shoulder, back, face muscles and cause your headache. Your panic feeling likely caused you to tense up. Nothing to worry about.

Yes it was probably caused by you tensing your head, neck and jaw muscles so tightly and quickly during the panic attack and you probably never realised until afterwards when the headache kicked in. This happens to me often during a panic though its mainly my upper back muscles that take the worst beating.
