So I'm terribly paranoid.
I'm on Omeprrazole but went off after 2 weeks, took another one today.
I've been having this pressure that is tender in my upper abdomen where my ribs meet. It's full on sore but tender.
Does anyone else get this?
I'm worried I have stomach cancer - I have gerd which I've had for years and years and year, probably 10 - I have high anxiety - panic attacks, last night I had a breathing attack.
I"m trying to get my Dr to let me see a Gastroentologist (spelling) but so far no luck.
I can't afford to see one privately.
I'm so over this - I have IBS and GERD and now I think stomach cancer, i'm 40.
Anyone else suffer like this?????????

Tan,

One look around this forum and you know you're not alone. It's quite common to think this way with HA. Even those who see several doctors and have testing till tomorrow still doubt and panic over common anxiety symptoms. And the fact is, you could see a gastro doc, get a clean bill of health and move on to another symptom and fear the next day.

You've had physical symptoms for years and yet you're doing the same thing in thinking the worst when in fact it's very highly likely a symptom of reflux/GERD.

Treating the root of the problem (anxiety) in turn will treat the symptoms associated with it.

I hear you - but I look, I've had anxiety for 15 years. I don't think my anxiety is treatable anymore.
I've done everything I can, - almost no drugs, but now Im dealing with my life long anxiety in terms of anxiety related diseases.
I'm trying to stop them progressing and that's gives me anxiety.
The fact that I've caused GERD and Gastritis gives me anxiety and now I think I've caused stomach cancer!

FYI... PPIs like Omeprazole are meant to be taken continuously. Stopping and starting lessens the therapeutic benefits. Both my wife and I are on Pantoprazol and take it every day and have for quite some time now. It's helped control about 95% of our reflux issues.

That being said, your statement speaks volumes: "I don't think my anxiety is treatable anymore. I've done everything I can".

There's a famous quote that is an answer to your statement...

"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right." Henry Ford

Good luck and best wishes. I hope you feel better soon.

You’re not alone. I was diagnosed with GERD, Gastritis and IBS a year ago. I also think I have some sort of digestive cancer(colon?)
I’m so f*cked up.

Nirvana - what tests did they do to get that diagnosis?
I feel I've had reflux for about 10 years on and off.
This feeling in my upper abdomen is new ish maybe 3 years!
Dr won't refer me to specialist!
