Hello i am on a work programme because even though i do many days at oxfam, it is unpaid and i am on benefits so i am on a work programme

All kinds of normal jobs i am able to do, retail/cafe/ etc is fine

But i am taking CBT and citolopram for my anxiety, and i am sure that security guard training course which they want me to take, will play havoc with my mind, even if i dont get a single shoplifter, its the training for it, and scenarios etc, that will really send my anxiety through the roof

If i tell them this, wont they think i am just trying to get out of it?
Do i legally have to take this course even though it will send my anxiety skyrocketting?

Any replies really appreciated

Im sorry you are in this situation. All I can say is that I was a security guard in a period of time when my ocd wasnt particularly bad, but after a week I quit because I found it to be horrendous. To be fair, it was the 12 hr night shifts alone that I soon found I couldnt handle so Im not sure how I would have been with shop work.

You have every right to raise concerns with them if you feel it would send you spiraling down.
