Hello all
I'm Phil and whilst I used to live in the lovely town of Glossop in Derbyshire, I live now in my home City of Plymouth in Devon UK. Home of the Pilgrim Fathers and the Mayflower- and home of some of the most brutal post war rebuilding seen in the UK.
I've had depression for around 10 years and it all really started when I met my now ex partner who was extremely controlling and following a row one night took me the GP who put me on Mitazapine. I have gone from 15mg through 30mg to the last 3 years on 45mg. I went on to 45mg when my ex left me and I stupidly thought I couldn't cope.
Now I'm divorced from my ex partner (civil partnership), my life has changed for the better luckily. I'm single, happy and have no depressive events since May 2011. My current GP is of the opinion that my ex husband was so controlling, he was almost making me depressed as a form of control. I have subsequently discovered that all his previous partners and his new partner have been taken to the Dr and placed on various forms of AD's.
So I've had all the blood tests going, various tests with the GP and specialists and there is no medical reason for me to be on the tablets at the moment. Scary moment but exciting at the same time. So I'm going onto a 9 month taper off and if I need to stop I can at any moment. Its rather empowering to be honest.
So I've posted in the Mirtazapine thread and that's where you'd find me :)
