Hello, I'm 30 years old and I have a neck (nervous/anxiety) twitch.
Always had moderate twitches growing up.
One of my regular twitches is to "pull" my head to one side and stretch what I believe is my scm muscle (Sternocleidomastoid_muscle)
Anyway there is no pain whatsoever but I've been twitching/clenching/popping my neck and recently I can hear a "grinding/crunching/popping" noise from the scm area on my neck.
It's worried me a bit that I've damaged myself from my somewhat involuntary twitching.
Any thoughts?
Ps I know the sound is coming from the scm region as I can feel the muscle "rumble" by touching my neck whilst jerking/stretching my neck.
