View Full Version : Constant Worry About My Health

I think I will keep this simple. I have head tension, back tension, neck tension and various other pains as well as aches that are listed in two other threads I made. I can't help my health anxiety though. No matter what I always attribute it to my heart, my head, stuff like that, I'm sure you know which things I mean but even typing them out worries me. It's always worst case scenario and I've seen so many articles on the internet about people worrying the same. The doctors always say there is no reason for further testing or specialists beyond what they gave me, and tell me that I simply have acid reflux, muscle issues, as well as very rough anxiety. The doctors often seem more concerned about my anxiety than anything. I'm on BP meds, this is one reason my worries always pick up too. Even though they always say I'm well under control, asking about weird low numbers or the results of tests thinking they didn't check everything they could. I just need to know, am I really ok? Can these crazy symptoms that make me feel truly as sucky as they do just be something like acid reflux and anxiety. Can those two things really be this rough and mimic these conditions? My health is almost all I worry about. Everything else is usually great, it's just this constant focus upon my health!

And the worst is the 'fuzzy/weird' feelings which I can't accurately manage to describe when I'm with doctors! Like my head feels tense/weird/crazy, and I'm nauseous, or like when I have pointed pains on my left side, from the side itself and also even to the front a bit. And worry about the heart. But it's like, they always call things like that unspecified. But assure me that I am ok!

Symptoms usually are kinda crazy at night! Sometimes I have a head twitch which I worry about and they said that can be muscle also, but I always worry it's something else!

I have similar muscle twitches, which I've noticed again during my current HA episode.. I had them last time and all CT/MRI etc came back OK, as they have this time also.

Anxiety can do random things to us!

I get crazy twitches too. Just last night my palm was twitching from my thumb area to center of my palm like a straigh line. Then I noticed I could see my pulse on inside my pinky finger where it would touch your other finger if your fingers was together. Like at first knuckle closes to your palm. I even checked my gfs hand and toke awhile but I noticed hers but wasn't as strong as mine.

I am in the same boat! I have bizarre tension in my jaw and mouth that truly freaks me out. I go to the worst of places.

What I'm beginning to believe is that the symptoms are real but they are due to anxiety.

You're not alone in this :)

I feel the same way I went to ER about chest pains and I got diagnosed with generalized anxiety. Which I think it's more like health anxiety because that's what I am worried about. I still get mild chest pains sometimes and I get tons of twitches like legs and arms even had one in my palm yesterday and it made my skin look like a straight line from my thumb to center of my hand. My stomach moves with my pulse also. Doctor didn't seem worried and his exacts words about me doing a follow up was. You can if you need more pills but I don't see the need in it.

That is about the impression that I receive from them too. They seem to think I'm really ok and it's mostly anxiety! I'd like to be told I will be ok and actually believe it easier.

Yeah well I'm not saying the ER doctor didn't do his job well or anything. I mean he does make the big money and they don't play around with heart related stuff. I was just shocked he didn't say anything about me eating better or working out more or losing some extra weight or anything. And he only ran a EKG on me did a bunch of blood work and Irvine test. He pretty much said I was fine and that he didn't see the need for me to follow up with anyone unless I needed more pills for anxiety. He told me to not be googling and to work on my stress. I was in panic mode all day that day. My heart rate was 114 when I was lying down to do the EKG. And it's in normal range now that I check it at home when not panicking.

But it is hard to believe it could all be anxiety with real symptoms. I mean I was questioning everyone around me family, doctor. And everyone heard what he told me they was there. They said I asked the doctor like ten times if my heart was ok. I don't remember it all it was like a trama day to me. And it was 1 day after my birthday. Lol

Now feeling coldish with my back pains, as well as the freaking when standing up. I wish I could feel much better! You guys have been helpful though, thank you. Can this all really be acid reflux and anxiety? Apologies about my kinda saying it again! And yes, the MD which I saw had to answer my questions a lot even though they were quite often the same questions! He was so assured, as was the doctor before that, as is my primary. And nurses. As well as the folk that ride you up there!

Well if I'm totally fine too then all I had was acid reflux and anxiety also but had ton of real symptoms. And did you do anything to pull your back or anything?

No, I was told it was mostly tension and posture, and also I'm kind of not really that active. It got a bit better with sleep!

That's good I'm not the most active either. But I do need to change that.
