*dont shoot* anyone had a toenail split vertically?

So grim but I haven't taken polish off this one toe for a good few months, probably 6. It was stubborn as had glitter on but notified a blue colour I wore ages ago there too. Other nails ive taken off over months so they're ok.

The nail itself is strong not brittle. Im not aware of injuring it so thinking Polish and awkward shoes may be cause?

Ha! Apparently chemicals in polish is a cause. I wouldn't have noticed it until I took polish off. Now o know it's there I'm worried it'll rip aha. As said the nail is strong but scared to pull it off. I've used nail hardening stuff on it :)

It will regrow itself.

I damaged my big toe due to wearing new walking boots that were slightly too small. It took the best part of a year to regrow the nail though and push the other one upwards & off.

Of course, I don't need to have pretty looking nails being a hairy arsed bloke so it's a bit different. :biggrin:

I was just grossed out! It's covered in nail hardening stuff and I'm going to be gently with IT!
