Hallo
On Friday morning I went to a group for families and friends of alcoholics, as I recently accepted that my dad's an alcoholic. Having my head in the sand for all these months was probably a big contributing factor to my anxiety.
Al Anon meetings are confidential, so I cannot say too much about what goes on there, but they did give me a copy of the serenity prayer. I am not religious at all, but god can be whoever you want him (or her!) to represent, and I felt such comfort reading this that I wanted to share it with you as it has really helped me...
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can
And wisdom to know the difference
I hope that this helps some of you too
