View Full Version : Feel like i can't breathe, starting to panic :(

Hey everyone, to cut a long story short i am sitting on my bed feeling like i can't breathe, i know i am breathing though i just feel like i can't breathe in for as long as i usually do if that makes sense? I am beginning to panic and feel like something bad is going to happen :( can someone please give me some advice? Thank you.

This is a very normal and common symptom of anxiety, even just prolonged stress. Breathe through your diaphragm and try to relax, it's just anxiety.

You're hyperventilating which means you're taking in more oxygen than you need. It's very common with anxiety.

First of all hold your breath for as long as you can then gently exhale. Then breathe in to the count of four and out to the count of four. Put your hands on your tummy and feel it expand on the in breath and deflate on the out breath. Concentrate on your breathing and if you're doing it properly you will start to feel calmer.
