I know mate I had it years back when my HA was constant,

I do wonder about the standard of training in the NHS, who would give a bloke a smear test? Classic case of "should have gone to Specsavers".:laugh:

Brilliant, Terry. LOL. :yesyes:

They would certainly have a bit of trouble in finding what they are looking for, HAHA. :D

Getting back to the topic, Beckie I am sure your smear results will be fine.

The more sexual partners you have had, the greater the chances of contracting HPV, so the greater the chances of a dodgy smear.

I think perhaps the existing condition you have, with the cervical ectropion is probably heightening your fear of a having a bad smear result, but this will in no way effect the smear outcome. You have as much chance as me or anyone else who has a limited sexual history. I have only had one sexual partner, and have had 4 smears, all normal.

This is anxiety flaring again for you. Try to distract yourself as much as possible, as being busy helps. It'll be fine. x

Mate, if it shows anything bad believe me - you won't be waiting 2 weeks. I got the phonecall 6 days later and was booked in for surgery 5 days after that. The longer you wait without hearing anything, the more likely it is there's nothing to worry about.

Mine was my first smear test. They rang back really quickly and said they'd found some abnormal cells. So I went for it lasered off, they put vinegar type solution on the cervix and if it turns a certain colour they know the cells are abnormal. So they just burnt them off with a laser - only took 5 mins!
But it ran a little deeper so I had to go for a quick operation to cut some more tissue out of my cervix. Easy peasy and now I'm right as rain :) I had smears every 6 months for the first 2 years and now have them once a year because there's no point having them more often x

Sorry Paul, I wasn't mocking you so I'm sorry it has come across that way. You were really helping Beckie! You have always been someone who likes a laugh & joke on here and I didn't realise you would take it the wrong way. You normally appreciate a laugh, and I thought we were fine now, so I can only guess you are having a rough time right now.

If they send it "Royal Snail", delays are pretty much the standard I find. :winks:

Ring up your doc in the morning and ask. I never wait for any test results, I always ring up. I assume all doctors are the same.

---------- Post added at 20:21 ---------- Previous post was at 20:20 ----------
