Hi,
I was looking at my tooth extraction site and was wondering something. How long does the bone continue to erode where the tooth was located? I got my lower middle molar in the back pulled many years ago. I think maybe 5 years ago? I was wondering how much jaw bone do you lose and does it ever stop? I just noticed the "hole" was pretty deep where the tooth use to be.
Is the bone ever going to stop eroding? I read on one dentist website, that bone loss never stops after a tooth is a pulled. It never stops?? I had no clue about this. Or maybe it has already stopped? I just don't want my bone to keep eroding away because it will age me. I put a flash light over it and my gum is white there. Almost like I can see the bone under the gum. Is that normal? I never really paid attention to it all. I can't find much about it online. Just wondering if anyone knows. Thanks
