So a little bit tmi. I am on vacation and I just got my period. I put a tampon in and went in the pool around 11. At 4 I took the tampon out and realized it was full of pool water. Can you get an infection or tss from that? I don't have much pain. Just normal period pain I think but I'm starting to panic. Being away from home doesn't help either. Thanks in advance.

Ive swam with tampons a lot and never had a problem. I'm sure you are fine.

Thanks for replying! I definitely have swam with Tampons before, I just never noticed pool water on it. But my anxiety is usually heightened when I'm away from home.

Lots of girls swim with tampons and I'm sure if there were any health risks there would be warnings all over. You'll be fine!

Thanks for your reply. I'm almost positive I'll be ok. Of course when I mentioned it to my mom she said "that doesn't sound good!" Obviously she doesn't understand my anxiety!

Now I'm a little itchy down there. Should I be worried?

Tampons are designed for women to use whilst swimming.
