Hi, As you know I had my blood tests on Monday and after much waiting and being very anxious I phoned the doctors today. The receptionist told me I have low folic acid and that is what has been causing my symptoms. They have posted me a letter with a prescription that I should get tomorrow.

The receptionist said it is nothing to worry about and that I will need to have a further test to check levels.

Not sure what has caused it but at least it is treatable.

Good news then. Yes a result but its easily treatable and accounts for your symptoms. Most peoples diets are very low in basic vitamins and minerals even people who eat huge amounts of veggies and fruit so its easy to get deficiencies. A basic multrivitamin without iron can be taken by most people although you will now be given high dose folic acid supplement and then they will retest in a few months.
Maybe after that when your levels are nomral you could consider a supplement?

I see nothing but good news in this post. Who cares what caused it? Don't start thinking about that because its nothing serious.

Congratz. Told you you'd be ok.
