Hello

I have previously spoken on here with my fears, but they are back again.

Since having really bad diarrhea during antibiotics, my bowels have never gone back to normal. Still loose, maybe once or twice a day.

Ive been to the doc a couple of times. Poop was negative for CDiff and bacteria.

My Calprotectin came back at 35. Which (supposedly) means IBS.

My issues are, Im 43. Arent i a tad old to suddenly get IBS?

My cousin currently has bowel cancer, which greatly fuels my anxiety.

The doc said I do not need anymore testing. But I understand, from the NICE guidance, is if I was 45, I would get to see a gastro person.

I had a full blood panel done, including tests for autoimmune diseases. From my result, only one has been done, the CRP, and this has come back really elevated. My result was 18 and it is supposed to be under 5.

My GP said my high level could be as i am overweight.

Ive been using Dr Google, and high CRP can be an indication of cancer and other things.

Does anyone have any idea if the Calprotectin could diagnose cancer? Apparently, if it was elevated, there could be some disease going on, like crohns or colitis.

My GP said, its IBS because of the 35 result.

How can she be certain nothing sinister is going on?

Sorry for my rambling on,

Liz x
