Red lump on neck

Hey guys,

So I posted here a over 2 weeks ago about a lump id woken up with on my neck, sort of on the side but towards the back. Anyway, at that time it was really big, red and tender and it felt painful to touch. I kept putting hot compress on it and eventually it developed a couple of yellow heads which I popped but it still felt massive. Anyway fast forward a few days and it went down quite a lot with more hot compress, then it went down even more and it's now much smaller but still red and scabbing over. Just worried as it still feels like a lump, albeit a smaller one.

I'm now freaking out its actually a swollen lymph gland and that's why it won't fully disappear.

A lymph node does not come to a head that you can pop.(period)

As someone who has been there MANY times (unfortunately) it sounds like a zit. They can get pretty big on the neck and take awhile to heal.

Keep up the hot compresses, don't pop, and keep the area as clean as possible. If you want you can try some salycylic acid just on that spot to dry it up.
