Hi All
After not socialising for nearly a year, due to panic, depression, GAD, me and my husband were invited out for an Indian meal to celebrate one of his friends 40th, as I have been feeling a little better recently I decided to go for it, I could always leave if the panic became unbearable!!!!
What my husband had forgotten to tell me that there would be about 25 of us, and I would only know 2 of them. So after two previous sleepless nights of umming and arring about going we met up in the pub next door, where I was introduced to 23 new people!!!!!! My brain was saying what the hell are you doing here get out now!!!!!, but part of me wanted to see it through so off we went for the meal, I'm not saying it was the most enjoyable experience, but I managed to stay for the full 2 hours, eat, go onto a pub afterwards and I didn't drink.:yesyes:
I am so pleased I did it it has given me such a boost, so anybody out there who is umming and arring over doing something, just do it, it is worth it.

:yesyes: Awwwwwww thats great news Jane, well done hun, and you've met 23 others new faces, you went with the flow and it all turned out pretty good in the end, a real confidence booster and a huge effort on your part, I hope you did enjoy the evening, because the more you have some fun, the more your self esteem builds and so does your trust. Sometimes it only takes these small things to give us a confidence boost and make us feel as if were achieving something, for those who suffer panic attack and anxieties this is a huge stepping stone, so well done Jane!!!!! love skylight

You should be really proud of yourself, socializing in large groups is very hard and takes a lot of courage.
Well done you!

That is such fabulous news. I'm due to go out for a meal with friends on Wednesday evening and am already starting to feel a bit worried about it - hope I manage to get on as well as you did.

Congratulations
