Dose increase

Hi guys..I have been on pregabalin 25 mg 3 x daily for a little over 2 months and my gp has said i can increase the dose to 150 mg per day (split into 3 doses) as i am now having some breakthrough anxiety creeping in...what worries me is will the side effects return and will i need to keep increasing the dose over time due to tolerance? ... many thanks kindred

Hi Kindred,

You may get some return of side effects, if you increase the dose, but they should be temporary and no worse than when you started up.

The experience of people posting here seems to be that people find a level that suits them and don't really deviate from it - it's not a matter of tolerance continually building and requiring higher doses. That said, 150 mg per day is still below the mid range of 200 - 400 mg per day, so there is still some room to go up if necessary. For the moment, see how you go on the new dose - it might suit you fine.
