So for the last two days my wife, who does not suffer at all from HA, has had a twitching muscle(s) in her left side, just above her hip and below her rib cage. They are semi-frequent, and sort of freaked her out a bit, which is how I learned about them.

Of course, I deal with them all the time, and am able to dismiss them (rightfully so) as anxiety, and they usually go away and certainly never last this long. Also, never had them in that place, mine is usually my cheek, my eyelid or thumb or calves. Naturally, I go straight to the worst case scenario.

Anyway, anyone else had muscles in weird places like this go bananas? And for this long?

Is she sure its muscle twitching and not bowel related as gas in your bwoels can give you a twitch feeling in just that area as the colon goes up under the left rib and then down inside pelvis. I certainly get what feels like a baby kicking sensation in that area but its coming from my bowel.

If you can see the twitch when you look at her then its most likely muscle twitching but if you can't see movement then could be bowel.

Either way its not anything awful and should resolve itself.
