Hi I apologise if this has been answered already, I did try looking for a question on it but I couldn't seem to find one.

So I know palpitations aren't harmful in the moment you are feeling them. But I did read somewhere that those with palpitations do experience some kind of problems later on? I almost don't want to write down what I remember from the article because it seems a little far fetched, but at the same time is it not fair to conclude that palpitations that last for a long time can affect your heart health later on in life?

I have palpitations due to anxiety near enough every day for hours at a time, and I just try and get on with my day. But I can't help but wonder that this might have some effect when I'm older. Sorry if this is a silly question.

The only later possible problem I have read the heart suffering is when someone has ectopic beats every few seconds -- tens of thousands per day -- it can start to affect how it functions.
