Dermatology, moles and melanoma!!

Hi,
I went to my GP today with worries about a new and dark mole but I'm not reassured at all! He was very nice but said that he has never performed a mole check and wasn't really sure what to do. He has filled in an emergency referral to dermatology and it is for 2 weeks today. I'm out if my mind with worry, I don't know how I am going to be able to get through the next two weeks.

I'm kicking myself for the holidays spent sunbathing and the 8 months I spent visiting sunbeds when I was 18. I'm only 21 now and I feel completely doomed that this will be melanoma! :weep:

A GP who said he had never performed a mole check? In my opinion he shouldn't be a GP if that's the case.

Yeah, he was quite young and apparently there is another gp in the surgery that specialises in dermatology but I couldn't get an appointment with her for over 2 weeks by which time I will have already been to the hospital..
