Diarrhoea after ranitidine what to do?

Over the last two days I took three ranitidine tablets as thought was experiencing heartburn and chest tightness. Just an over counter indigestion tablet from a supermarket but when I read the label it is basically just this ingredient, but now have diarrhoea and it did say in the ranitidine tablets was taking could cause this as a side effect, great! Anyone had this reaction to a tablet that is basically this ingredient?

I think this tablet is basically an own bran Zantac

I take ranitidine and have done for a long time prescription strength and have no side effects. sometimes its not the active ingredient but the fillers they use.
What is the max dose as 3 could be quite alot although not necessarily over the daily dose. Maybe reduce to only 1 a day and build up gradually so your body can adjust to the drug with time.
Gaviscon, rennies and tums can all help with heartburn as well.

You also went on a bender and your system is whacked which is the most likely cause of your digestive distress. Zantac (ranitidine) is a mild OTC acid reducer. I took it for years and never had a bad side effect.
