brief relief in symtoms, then worse

Does anyone experience a brief relief of anxiety for an hour or two, then the anxiety returns and it feels worse. I do. Could it be that the return brings extra feelings of confusion and disappointment, which adds to hopelessness and despair?

From past experience I've found it best, when I'm in recovery mode, not to believe that it'll never return.
Not wanting to sound too negative but it always seems to come back to some degree and I used to get so disappointed and depressed when I discovered it was back that I felt even worse.
Now I'm wiser and ready for it and it's far more manageable. I've accepted that this is something I have and can control.
