Infected ingrown toenail, scared.

Hi all.

Over the past few months I've been dealing with an ingrown toenail. It got to the point where blood and pus was coming out, very gross. I went to the doctor and they gave me antibiotics and it's no longer bleeding or anything, but it's still fairly red around the toe. It doesn't really hurt but I've been reading about infections and stuff and I'm scared of it spreading or causing some other catastrophic problem. How common is this happening from an infected toe? Could it happen to me?

What would really help ease the inflammation is to soak it in warm salty water about 3 times a day, for around 20 mins a time, it will help

I get this all the time. The antibiotics will heal it eventually. Sometimes I don't even go to the docs and I just soak it every day.
