Good question. I wondered too. We recently had a referendum as the govt were trying to change our flag, it didn't happen. Millions of dollars later!

The one that comes up here isn't even one of the ones we were voting on. Not sure where it's come from!

Its the maori flag ... not the real one but one of many - love it.
