So scared breathing stops

Hello everyone,

It has been a while now that I am scared I will suddenly stop breathing, I dont know if it is a common fear among general anxiety sufferers, but I would like people who had this fear to write so that I feel better knowing Im not the only one to think about such thing.
Moreover I would like to know if you think this couls happen. My GP said impossible but today as I was having dinner I felt like I diidnt know how to swallow anymore or as if there was something wrong wiith me. It only lasted 2 seconds, I dont know if it the heat or just a panic attack.

Breathing is an autonomic body function like your heart and other functions. Your doctor is right. Even if you were able to consciously try to stop breathing, the worst that would happen is you would pass out and start breathing again.

Yes, I have this feeling from time to time but have never stopped breathing!
