I know its kind of a weird question.. But I can never tell if I'm getting better or not from my GAD and panic attacks...
You realise you spend less time in an anxious state. You start noticing things around you - birds singing, what other people are saying.
There are a million subtle ways you can tell but in general you will start to become more confident in some ways and it will probably become obvious over time.
Also, blips seem far worse because the contrast between feeling well and feeling bad is much more shocking (but not any more likely to make you relapse).
