Panic disorder or ativan withdrawl?

So, I have always have gad.. For as long ad I can remember. I had never had a panic attack in my life though, just anxiety.. Then 6 months ago, I went to my doctor complaining about the anxiety, he decided to give me ativan for two months, every day, 3 times a day.. I was none thebwiser.. My panic attacks started during my use of ativan, when decreasing doses or when I missed a dose of my ativan.. Since then I have beeen worried about having these panic attacks as they scared me a lot.. Do I have a panic disorder or is this all ativan withdrawl? (I came off ativan 3 months ago)

From my knowledge, ativan can be highly addictive and can result in a numerous of withdrawal symptoms which in some cases causes panic attacks or the symptoms associated with them.

However, I believe these withdrawal symptoms only tend to last around 30 days. I suggest going back to the doctors as they will know more and maybe requesting a drug that is not as addictive or easy to form a dependency on.:)
